On completing a quarter of life.

The setting sun touched the faraway horizon; the evening glow seemed to remind of ever increasing age clasped by temporariness. During that commencing twilight of the dusk, the author is all set to pour down his experience with its conclusion briefly in the last evening of the first quarter of his life!  Barring certain experiences in form of skills needed to get along with livelihood, how liberating is to not accumulate experiences otherwise? One accumulates experiences to form an image that obstructs the direct perception lateron because then one starts looking at the object of perception through the image of the past. This breeds attachments to the past & stagnance against ever-refreshing reality which eventually smothers the purity of beingness . Wherefore, the experience of the author in life is to not hold on to experiences. But how can it become possible to not imbibe experiences while relishing them? - By holding on to the consciousness or beingness. When consciousness/bein

Why lack of attention?

A former blog explained how thoughts are being enjoyed rather than objects of experiences. The blog also implied the utmost importance of attention - attention, without which freedom can't creep in. That's eventually attention alone that frees us from our sorrow, fear, envy, hatred & all the rest of it! So, why there is inattention? There are many ways to answer that relevant question but let the author stick to a particular reason relevant to daily life & easily pondered over.  The primary cause of inattention is simply our prejudices with certain actions; We ain't valuing all actions equally - some actions have been being given utmost importance while some actions have been being trivialized & thus haven't been being enjoyed really. So, the mind that has started discriminating among actions, can't remain attentive on actions that have been considered trivial or irrelevant. Consider a simple example of eating a favorite dish; do you really remain attent

Creation isn't random.

The following was the first tanka, the author had written while pondering about the nature of reality. philosophy on the nature of reality- brimming over with thy universality - the blissful nectar; however choiceless thy acts, ain't really arbitrary! thus, the tanka maintains the creation is an outpouring of the blissful nature of reality. And also, since the bliss is of the very nature of freedom, the actions born out of it ain't random.  #शिव

Hypothetical conversation among Jiddu Krishnamurti, Ramana Maharshi & Abhinavagupta.

On an occasion while pondering over some ontological questions, author's mind conceived a hypothetical conversation that went as below. Jiddu Krishnamurti - Observer is observed. By choicelessly aware of the content of one's psyche one gets rid of one's habit patterns lying down firmly in form of multitude of conditionings. Ramana Maharshi - But if the observer is observed, who is the one remains as witness when observer is observed realised? What is that substratum upon which observer which itself is observed mounted?  When non duality of observer and observed realised who is the one who witnesses the non duality of observer and observed? To all these answers, I maintain that the substratum who witnesses the observer is observed as a background is consciousness which you call intelligence. But the question which remains is why choicelessly aware of conditionings of psyche brings about freedom from those conditionings? Abhinavgupta - Can any heap of seeds (conditionings) sp

How do you learn?

Why thoughts?

Aah, Why thoughts? Why should there be constant stream of thoughts?  If one looks at it, one would find the reason of existence of thoughts simply is that the one enjoys to have thoughts! That's it. Nothing more!  You subconsciously enjoy thoughts, for that's all you have experienced. You never experienced food, beauty, river, tree, etc. but the thought that chipped in during direct experience. So, when thoughts all that you have experienced & enjoyed, then you tend to bring about thoughts subconsciously to enjoy them. BTW, the thinker is also thought. :)

The cause of all problems?

Have you ever wondered what is the cause of all problems - individual as well as social problems? Since society is merely a group of people woven together through thread of relationships of many kind, in understanding of personal problems, one might understand social problems as well.  Let's discuss core problems of an individual. The individual can have physical problems or psychological problems. Probably, every individual problem will go into one of the either bucket. Physical problems are caused due to society or environment where one lives along with one's own lifestyle. Leaving the former problems caused due to society, let's take the later into the account, for lifestyle is in one's own hand. Lifestyle being the expression of one's psyche, the physical problems cause due to lifestyle is eventually reduced to psychological problems. So, we arrive at psychological problems being the pivot of our discussion.  Lust, anger, greed, fear, sorrow, etc. are make for p
